R. Bacchus, Legal Faculty - Barrister & Solicitor
Bacchus is a graduate from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from Queen’s University Law School.  Currently he runs his own practice and is a Duty Counsel Lawyer with a Canadian Corporation.
W. Pye, Legal Faculty
Pye acquired a Bachelor of Laws degree at Queen’s University Law School. He has extensive background practicing in various areas of law and has become a well-qualified instructor with several years experience teaching at the college level.
S. Slemon, Legal Faculty - Barrister and Solicitor
Slemon is an Honours graduate from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws. She has an extensive background practicing law and is a former president of the Middlesex Women’s Law Association. In addition she is an experienced instructor for the Law Society of Upper Canada and has instructed at the college level.
K. Vigeant, Legal Faculty - Barrister and Solicitor
A Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Manitoba and an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario combined with over 10 years experience practicing law and owning his own general practice law firm make Vigeant an invaluable source of instruction.
R.C. (Andy) Anderson, Instructor (Police Foundations)
Since 1964, Anderson has served with Canada Customs, the Ontario Provincial Police and the Haldimand-Norfolk Regional Police, where he obtained the rank of Detective Sergeant. In 1987, he joined the Ontario Police College as a Senior and Special Courses instructor and in 1992 was assigned to the Criminal Investigation training team at OPC, which is responsible for the development and instruction of senior police investigative courses (namely Criminal Investigation, Sexual Assault Investigation, Homicide Investigation, Investigative Interviewing and Interrogation, and Statement Analysis).
Sgt. J. Austen, Instructor (Police Foundations)
Since 1985, Austen has served as an officer for a South-western Ontario Police Force. As well as serving in the Uniform Division, Sgt. Austen has worked as a Defensive Tactics Trainer, the Public Order Unit, the Criminal Investigation Division, and most recently in the Recruiting and Training Section.  His subject responsibility involves Defensive Tactics Training.
B. Berscht, Instructor (Police Foundations)
After serving in the Canadian Armed Forces for 5 years, Berscht joined the Waterloo Regional Police Service in 1976. He has served in the Youth Crime Division, Drug Enforcement Unit, Intelligence Bureau, and the Criminal Investigations Branch and rose to the rank of Sergeant. On two separate occasions Berscht was seconded to the Ontario Police College as an instructor and upon returning to Waterloo Regional was promoted to Staff Sergeant. He has an extensive experience in criminal investigations, including homicide, robbery, sexual assault, drug trafficking, extortion, and conspiracy and is also recognized as an expert in the field of Drug Enforcement.
Cst. D. Bruce, Instructor (Police Foundations)
Bruce is an active officer for a South-western Ontario Police Force and has undergone numerous courses such as Coach Officer’s Training, Driver Training Instructors, Crisis Intervention, and various defensive tactics seminars. He is involved in the London jiu-jitsu Club as an instructor. His subject responsibility involves: Provincial Statutes, Traffic Management, Highway Traffic Act and Defensive Tactics Training.
Mike Chevers, Instructor (Police Foundations)
Chevers began his career in policing with Collingwood PD and was assigned to major crime and the drug unit he was promoted to Sergeant in 1984. He was seconded to the Ontario Police College in 1991 and soon became a full time instructor assigned to the criminal investigation training team with a specialization in drug enforcement.
Sgt. R. E. Crawley, Instructor (Police Foundations)
Since 1978, Crawley has been a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. In his 25 years of service, he has been assigned to Special Investigations, Customs and Excise Division, Commercial Crime Section and the Executive/Diplomatic Protection Services. Most recently, he was assigned to the Commercial Crime Unit dealing with fraudulent transactions.
R. J. Erskine, Instructor (Police Foundations)
An officer with the Ontario Provincial Police from 1964 to 1997, Erskine rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant and served as Detachment Commander at numerous locations. He currently serves on the London Regional Critical Incident Stress Management Team and is actively involved as a committee member in the Community Policing Association.
D. G. Forbes, Instructor (Police Foundations)
Forbe’s career began in 1967 with the Nepean Police Force and Ottawa-Carleton Regional Police. In 1987 he was promoted to Staff Sergeant and assumed administrative duties in the Patrol Division. More recently he served as an Investigator in the Criminal Investigations Division (Fraud and General Assignment Squads), as a Supervisor in the Community Response Unit, and was seconded to the Ontario Police College as an instructor. Forbes earned a Certificate in Adult Education from St. Francis Xavier University.
R. Izzard, Instructor (Police Foundations)
A member of London Police Service from 1972 to 2003, Izzard was promoted to Staff Sergeant in 1984. He has extensive supervisory and administrative experience in the areas of community policing, traffic management, front line policing unit and section commander and major incident command.  Izzard was appointed to the recruiting and training section in 1999 responsible for the recruiting and training of police officers and civilian staff. 
Cst. J. McDonald, Instructor (Police Foundations)
McDonald is a part-time instructor and consultant at Westervelt College since 1996 having served as the Use of Force/Defensive tactics coordinator. Currently he serves as an active officer for a South-western Ontario Police Force.  Recognized as one of Ontario’s premier “Use of Force” instructors, McDonald holds his 1st dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do and is an Assistant Instructor in Hap Ki Do teaching ground fighting defences and kickboxing. He has received specialized training as a Drug officer, a Glock Instructor/armourer, in heavy weapons, in High Risk Vehicle Stops and Warrant Execution.  He recently returned from an FBI shooting instructor’s course.
B. Tavener, Instructor (Police Foundations)
Tavener was a member of the Metropolitan Toronto Police and the Peel Regional Police Service from 1961 until 1985. While with Peel Regional Police he served in the Uniform Division, the Criminal Identification Division and the Training Branch attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. In 1985, he accepted a permanent position with the Ontario Police College as the course coordinator of Police Management Studies. Bill has co-authored both a handbook and paper in matters of police management and has been a member of the Westervelt College training staff since 1995.
Cst. J. Wong, Instructor (Police Foundations)
Wong currently serves as a police officer for a south-western Ontario Police Service. Wong graduated from Western with a degree in Psychology.  He is also highly skilled in the area of martial arts and has the ranking of 3rd Gup level Black belt in Kukiwon, Korean Tae Kwon Do.  He is an accomplished instructor in this area and as such is a part owner of the Tristar Tae Kwon Do martial Arts Centre. Wong is currently serving in the “Use of Force/Defensive Tactics” instruction in the Police Foundations Program.
