Length of course: 8 months

Program Overview:  

With rapid advancements in Medical technology and treatments for illness and disease comes the need for qualified Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technicians. Assistant/Technicians work side by side with Technologists in Research , Hospital Labs, Private Labs, Environmental Labs and Industrial labs.    This program is taught by Medical Laboratory Technicians and Medical Laboratory Technologists who bring their years of expertise to each component of this program.  Students will have theory and Practical training on campus in our new Medical Lab, and will get hands-on experience using modern lab equipment.  Students will also benefit from clinical placements in their future career field.   Graduates are eligible to write their certification exam through the Ontario Society of Medical Technologists (http://www.osmt.org/).  

Career Opportunities as a Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician:  

Hospital Laboratories, Private Laboratories, Research Facilities, Environmental Testing Facilities and Industrial Laboratories.
